A facebook fanpage thingie is good, IMHO, because people can like it and share it and it spreads... A few artists on here have both a personal page and a fan page and I kinda wonder about the personal page, because you would be inundated with friend requests from dA fans.....
I don't have Facebook, I have G+ but don't use it 'cuz my friends have Facebook and neither wants to switch(Not that I would use it that much either O.õ)
I'm happy I'm not member of any data mining site. Facepoop keeps all your information, even the ones you're deleting and your private messages!! You don't have any privacy there.
Not only do I have one but I have a Fanpage set up for my comic.
It's definitely a way to tag another group of folks. I know people who live on FB. I also know folks who don't care for it and live on Twitter and Tumblr. The ability to cross-post from one source to the rest is always a plus as I can post to my fanpage and have it hit Twitter or start from Tumblr and have it sent through the whole chain.
Blanket the networks. Leave no fan alive... er, "uninformed"! = P
I have a profile and a page for my art...I thought that by "personal page" you meant this, not the profile anyway;I think it's a good idea..after all you get to have more exposure

Do it if U want to, but, to be honest, If U have a personal page, I think it' be better (and easier) to just link your dA stuff
Anyway, just don't rush it, think about it for a while.
