edit: Well, I'm calling it "improvement" because I personally feel like I got better at composition, perspective, and colouring; This is one of those things where it's a little unnecessary for one to tell the other "There's no improvement :/", because whether I have or not, I'll still be practicing just as hard to get better. I'm not looking for asspats, and I don't mind opinions, but it'll have to be helpful in some way or don't give them at all. That's the way I treat other artists on this site and I guess that's the way I expect (but not always get) treated.
But anyways, i thought i might as well show it, since my second drawing is based off the first one.
Of all the memes I've seen of this, I've always seen the same pose/composition in the before and after, except the rendering is better in the after. However, I feel like improvement doesn't just have to be an improved knowledge of structure; it could also be lighting, composition, posing, etc too. I feel like I understand composition and perspective a lot better now, so that's why the whole pose is different.
Anyways, I'm not saying the other ppl are not right for doing the same composition and posing, I'm just explaining why I didn't do that xD;.
oh, i also got rid of the wings cause I'm no longer in my "DRAW WINGS ON EVERYF*KING THINGGGGGGGGGGGGGG " faze. 8D;;
Improvement, yes, but your 2007 image is already really lovely! Well done. I also love your tutorials... they show how knowledge of anatomy really informs realistic drawing. Thanks!
Improvement memes are so much fun. It's awesome to see how much people improve given time and practice. Both are beautiful pieces, and the second one is definitely an improvement in EVERY aspect, more life, more flight, no cliched wings, just awesome.
