Hand Tutorial 2 by Qinni Hand Tutorial 2 by Qinni
To celebrate my end-of-school, let me share with you guys something I've been holding out on since....some time last year. lol.

I did another hand tutorial because the people at Womanthology wanted me to expand on my first tutorial I had on dA.

I hope this helps some of you. Again, like I said before, just keep drawing and don't ever hide the hands intentionally just because you're having trouble drawing them! :D. References are a great thing to have too.

This was done for Womanthology

So, you're saying my strategy to put all my characters' hands in their pockets or give them mittens is a bad idea? :P

Thanks for the tutorial!  This is one of my problem areas.  My family is getting tired of me taking pictures of their hands for reference!

How big is the hand compared to the rest of the body? My art teacher told me the hand is the same size as the face. When I tried drawing the hand that way, my character ended up with some serious man hands.

It's around the same measurement as starting from your chin to the middle of your forehead, of course it also differs a little from person to person and depending on the perspective of the hand. Just keep practicing and you'll get used to it :)
