I love the original little mermaid; It was seriously my childhood favourite fairytale full of bitter-sweetness. I cried buckets of tears when I first read it. xD;;

I think drawing the water broke my hand. argh D;~ I should probably draw more in-water stuff cause water is SERIOUSLY hard and I need to practice xD;; >A<;;

haha what's wrong with a butt crack? besides, it emphasises the fact that she's human when not touching the water, since most mermaids are actually transformed when it gets to the butt and has no butt crack :). I was actually going to make the water lower and show more, since it's the sea shore and water levels are actually a lot lower than what I drew here.

i'm just the kind of person who doesn't like boobs and butts and stuff. i think the word is "prude"? anyways, i get that she's only a mermaid in water and human out because of her knee. in fact, i didn't even realize the butt crack until my third look at this. i just wish the water was higher, that's all. but this is really good. i mean i love the way its painted/drawn. i like this kind of art. and i hate it when it's photo/cosplay/real people. oh gosh i'm rambling now. anyways, good work!
